Continental is delighted to have completed the installation of the equipment at one of the country's best gymnastics training facilities - GMAC.

The facilty features:

• a full training facility for men, women and junior gymnasts
• a sunken fast-track and competition tumble track and run-up with dismount to a foam filled dismount pit
• In addition to four FIG trampolines for practice and competition, the gymnasts have access to two pit mounted trampolines for dismount practice
• three separate dojos with judo mats manufactured by Continental Sports with a bespoke pvc cover for wrestling practice and competition
• a stunning, modern building with plenty of parking and a welcoming reception and viewing area for parents
• Continental's involvement included:

Working with the architects, builders, British Gymnastics and other interested parties to design the layout of the equipment in the £7.5million facility including the design of several bespoke training elements.

GMAC was subsequently used as a training venue for the European Gymnastics Championships held at Birmingham's NIA.

Continental's role involved design of the facility with supply and installation of the equipment including:

• FIG approved Artistic and Rhythmic floor areas
• A full complement of FIG approved competition equipment
• A wide range of training and general gymnastics apparatus
• A competition layout of FIG approved trampolines and end decks
• Judo matting areas for three dojos
• Bench seating and island units for the changing rooms

GMAC was opened by Bruno Grandi, President of the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (the "FIG"), who described it as "... a Rolls-Royce facility. Birmingham have built a very high-level facility which is something that is very good for our sport."
