Dance studio flooring...
The best flooring for any dance, fitness or aerobics studio is solid timber sprung flooring - on both aesthetic and performance grounds. And the best timber sprung flooring is from Junckers. Continental is a Nationally Approved Installer of Junckers timber flooring and we would be delighted to install your floor as part of a full studio installation.

As a one-stop shop, Continental can install the floor, seal it, install skirting, install posture mirrors and ballet barre, and provide, install and maintain all the equipment you require to use your facility.

Refurbishment of existing rooms

Continental can transform any suitably sized existing room into a high specification studio for dance, ballet, aerobics, spinning, martial arts, yoga, pilates, keep-fit, etc.

We have a Junckers undercarriage and floor to suit any existing situation.

We strongly recommend a post installation application of a layer of Junckers High Performance Sports Seal to give your floor that added protection from heavy usage and equipment.

All floors are priced based on a combination of the area, the undercarriage, any strip out work required, and also any additional equipment that is ordered from Continental. We will be pleased to discuss your requirements and provide a budget quotation over the telephone.

The above image shows a dance studio before the refurbishment project undertaken by Continental. We stripped out the old, faded, unlacquered solid timber un-sprung floor and the old-fashioned bitumen base and installed a Junckers 22mm thick solid beech floor on a sprung NewEra undercarriage - see below:

The ideal floor surface for a dance studio floor is Junckers SylvaSport Premium grade 22mm thick solid beech flooring - see above.

This isn't just a thin veneer of real timber glued onto chipboard like some manufacturers use (called "engineered board"), but it is real timber throughout. This means a Junckers floor can be sanded down several times over its life to reveal fresh timber, whereas an engineered board floor must be replaced as soon as it wears out.

Ramps and threshold strips will be needed to deal with changes in levels and Continental can supply a range of options to suit your budget and design. See examples above and below.

New flooring installations

We have a range of undercarriage systems available to suit different sub-floors and to provide differing levels of performance. We have shown the most popular studio floor undercarriage types to the right.

To see the full range of options available and a discussion of the pro's and con's please refer to the flooring section of our website here: Continental and Junckers timber dance studio flooring

Junckers BluBat sprung sports flooring

The above image shows a Junckers BluBat undercarriage which provides sufficient performance for general activities.

BluBat requires a flat and level sub-floor prior to installation.

Junckers NewEra sprung sports flooring

The above image shows a Junckers NewEra undercarriage which provides sufficient performance for general activities.

NewEra can be installed on a non-level sub-floor which makes this ideal for installation as part of a refurbishment where the removal of an existing floor leaves a sub-floor which may or may not be flat.

Junckers Clip System sprung sports flooring

The above image shows a Junckers Clip System undercarriage which provides sufficient performance for general activities.

The Clip System requires a flat and level sub-floor prior to installation, but due to its low construction height is often ideal for refurbishment projects as long as the sub-floor is flat and level.
