Continental Sports has recently installed two traditional timber single / double cantilever beam units for the exclusive health club group, "The Third Space" to create a new "retro-gym" concept in their Marylebone gym.

The beams and accompanying ropes have enabled The Third Space to offer "Bars and Ropes" classes under the supervision and guidance of an in-house instructor.  These classes use the best of traditional tried and tested exercise methods on traditional equipment in a hi-tech setting.

Referred to by The Third Space as "A revolution in fitness training – using modern training techniques on old-style equipment" this innovation is offering additional activities to gym members and a new lease of life for traditional timber gymnasium equipment.

According to a recent review in Vogue magazine, they were "...pretty blown away by this new addition to the franchise. Our favourite part of the site was this Retro Gym, a two-storey space equipped with climbing ropes, old school beams and gym rings (great for a back-to-basics all-body workout)..."
