We are very proud to have been selected by Trocellen® to be the sole UK distributor of their linkable martial arts mats.

There can be no better demonstration of the quality of Trocellen® mats than the current use of their wrestling area at the Olympic Games in Athens.

What is Trocellen® ? - it is a cross-linked polyethylene foam made from polyolefin resins. What that means to you is a high level of plasticity and elasticity, low weight, high impermeability, hard wearing, long lasting mats that are hypo-allergenic, antibacterial and anti-fungal.

Trocellen mats are precision cut using extremely accurate water jets to form a jigsaw linkable pattern on the edge.

 Precision water jets ensure a snug fitting jigsaw pattern to facilitate creating areas whilst eliminating gaps

The Trocellen matting system is tried and tested in competition use throughout the worls, including the Athens 2004 Olympic Games in the wrestling event

 These surprisingly low cost, hi-tech mats are available individually or in packs to create competition sized areas. Also available are edge strips and corners to give that perfect edge in competition.

Trocellen® Judo linkable mats

Trocellen® Judo Tatami mats - due to a particular combination of density and thickness, these mats are a genuine breakthrough in technical matting.

The mats significantly reduce the risk of accidents or injuries thanks to their elasticity and shock absorption capabilities.

The perfection of the water jet cutting technique ensures an absolutely consistent base and an incredibly high constancy in the capacity to suport the weight of the athletes.

Each modular unit is 1m x 1m x 40mm and weighs 3kg.

The mats are anti-slip thanks to the special tatami (rice grain) pattern embossed surface.

They are reversible with green on one side and red on the other to enable marking out the combat area.

The mats can easily be wiped clean and are impermeable to water.

The mats have excellent shock absorption capacity and provide the ideal combination of weight support and "give" across the combat area.

The special "jigsaw" fitting system developed for Trocellen® Karate Tatami delivers an even and continuous competition area.

These mats are specifically designed for Karate, Tae Kwan Do and other martial arts disciplines.

Featuring precision water cut jigsaw edges enabling the mats to be linked with absolutely NO GAPS between the mats. Previously only availble in the latest in judo or karate mats, this feature is now available in this exercise mat - prevent toes or fingers being caught between the edges of traditional velcro linked mats.

The mat features a multi-layer construction with many unique features including:

  • Tatami surface for a sure-grip in landing situations
  • A firm top layer to give support to landings
  • High resistance layers for impact resistance
  • Core cushioning layer for shock absorption

The Trocellen linkable exercise mat. The perfect all purpose, general use exercise mat for school, leisure centre, gym or home use

The mats (shown above) are available in 1m x 1m x 40mm sections.

Quick and easy to link together leaving a smooth exercise surface with no gaps between the joins

Link into any size or shape with absolutely no gaps (the above image shows the linking of four mats)

The "arrow" shown here is the key to linking the mats. Line up all the arrows to point in the same direction and you know the mats are in the correct orientation for linking.

The precision water jet cut edges (shown on the graphic above) are easy to link. Just line up the "arrows" on one corner of the mats in the same direction and push into place.

The new technology used to create these exercise mats enables incredible performance criteria to be delivered to the athlete or gymnast. It is easy to see the differing characteristics of the layers in action - watch the core cushioning layer absorbing impacts
The multi-layer high performance foams permanently heat bonded together allow previously unheard of specific performance criteria to be met.

The graphic above shows each of the heat bonded layers. This bonding uses no glues - flames slightly melt the surfce of each layer which are then fused permanently together - the layers become permanately joined.
