International
sprung floor for Artistic Gymnastics
Ref:309A
- FIG approved International sprung floor area.
Marked working area of 12m x 12m (with a sprung
area of 13m x 13m) complete with a 0.5m bevel
on four sides resulting in an overall size of
14m x 14m. The floor is manufactured from plywood
base panels containing a proprietary springing
system, a fastfoam underlay and a Tribond foam
laminated to broadloom nylon carpet surface. Supplied
with velcro strips to cover the join between carpet
surface rolls.
The top surface of the floor area is available
in seal grey or commonwealth green.
If you do not have sufficient space in your gym
for the regulation area, please contact us for
a quotation for bespoke areas. We can also incorporate
extensions to floor areas (for example up to the
edge of a sunken trampoline for dismount practice,
or up to a pit edge for tumbling practice).
Also, if your budget cannot include a full sprung
floor area, or if you need to move your floor
area into a shared space for each training session,
we recommend the top layer of the "sandwich"
- the Tribond and carpet laminate - to create
a cushioned working surface - see below:

Continental
now offers two types of artistic floor:
- The
"Standard"
floor, and
- The
"Continental Performance"
floor
What
is the difference and which floor is for
me?
The
"Standard" floor is FIG certified
and is therefore approved for top level
competitions.
For
all club and training facility usage we
recommend our alternative "Continental
Performance" floor. This floor is the
Continental floor that gymnasts throughout
the UK prefer, and that is installed at
most UK gymnastics training venues. The
difference between the floors is the type
of foam we use for the intermediate rebound
layer. The "Standard" floor includes
a 10mm layer of grey Monobond foam, whereas
the "Continental Performance"
floor incorporates a 25mm thick layer of
white Fastfoam.
The
"Continental Performance" floor
offers additional cushioning and enhanced
rebound. This provides a more forgiving
apparatus for training purposes and is easier
on the gymnasts joints, enabling longer
training periods.
If
you buy one of the floors and wish to switch
to the other floor at a later date, the
Monobond and Fastfoam intermediate layers
are available separately - please contact
us for a quotation. |

The
above image shows the three different colours
that we offer for both our "Standard"
FIG approved floor and our "Continental
Performance" floor:
- Lilleshall
Blue
- Commonwealth
Green
- Seal

Sprung
floor for Rhythmic Gymnastics
Continental's FIG
approved rhythmic floor is available in two elements
which can be purchased together or separately:
- The
high performance, low friction carpet surface
- The
sprung sub-base
The carpet surface has undergone rigorous performance
testing to ensure it provides just the right amount
of grip without generating excessive friction.
The
carpet for a 14m x 14m competition area is supplied
as standard in 3 rolls each 14m long x 4m wide,
and 1 roll 14m long x 2m wide. The carpet is supplied
in a neutral beige colour and comes complete with
sufficient red cloth tape to mark out the competition
working area, and sufficient flooring tape to
tack under the joins if required (please note
that you may require additional floor tape if
the floor will be lifted regularly.
Whilst
many people are happy to use the rhythmic carpet
straight on their existing floor (e.g. on a sports
hall sprung floor or similar the performance from
the floor will be quite acceptable), Continental
also manufacture a sprung sub-base.
Similar
in construction to the sub-base of our artistic
floor, this base provides the cushioning and rebound
required for FIG standard competition.
We
can provide the sub-base in any dimensions to
suit your requirements. Please contact us for
a quotation.

Tribond
foam and carpet laminate rolls
Ref:313
- Manufactured from a 30mm sandwich of lightweight
foams, heat bonded to 5mm of broadloom nylon carpet,
these form the top surface of our FIG approved
International sprung floor and are ideal for use
as an additional practice floor area, or to create
a temporary working area for floor exercise in
a sports hall or shared facility. The rolls are
easily laid out, are relatively lightweight, and
can be rolled for storage.
The mats offer a very high degree of elasticity,
absorption and durability, and their lightness
makes them very user-friendly.
The carpet rolls are 2m wide and available in
any length up to 14m. Standard sizes are 6m, 7m,
12m and 14m to easily create 'standard' sized
floor areas. Velcro strips in either grey or green
are available to cover joins between carpet rolls.
Please call to discuss your requirements and confirm
the lengths of velcro required.
This carpet matting is often installed permanently
within a gymnastic facility to provide additional
working areas between equipment, or in smaller,
otherwise unusable spaces. In those instances
the matting would normally be cut on site to fit
and glued permanently to the floor. Please call
to discuss your requirements and for a quotation.

Tumble
track
We
offer two types of tumble track - the Continental
"round rod", UK made tumble track (ref.
338A) and the "Skakoon" Russian made
"square rod" tumble track (ref. 338F).
Each type of track can be supplied in any length
to suit your facility - track panels can be shortened
to suit. We
can supply tumble tracks recessed into shallow
pits with pvc covered foam edge padding around
the pit, or not recessed but with a pvc skirt
around the edges of the track. Landing areas and
run-ups are available for both types of track.
Ref:338A
"Continental / round-rod"- Manufactured
from interlocking steel frames with round fibreglass
rods. Each frame is 6' wide by 4' long (1.83m
wide x 1.22m long) and contains 16 rods. The surface
is a sandwich of high performance Tribond foam
heat bonded to broadloom nylon carpet.
Ref:338F"Skakoon
/ square-rod"- Manufactured
from interlocking steel frames with rectangular
section fibreglass rods inserted into plastic
moldings to reduce noise and vibration. Each frame
is 2.00m wide x 1.25m long and contains 13 rods.
The surface is a sandwich of high performance
Tribond foam heat bonded to broadloom nylon carpet.
Both
types of tumble track are supplied with three
white velcro strips to mark the centre line and
edges of the track.
Ref:338E-

Which
track is for me?
- The
square rod Russian square-rod track is
primarily for top level tumblers. It is
a high performance track but you must
put a lot into the track to get that performance
out of it. For any other than the top
tumblers this track will prove less responsive
and harder than the Continental round-rod
track.
- If
you will mainly be using the track to
practice gymnastics (rather than as a
dedicated tumbler) then the Continental
round-rod track is for you. The track
features:
-
more rebound for less effort
- easier
on your joints allowing longer practice
periods
- the
best performance for all other than
the highest level of gymnast.

Air
track
We
have been asked by leading coaches and clubs for
some time to supply a Continental quality air-track.
Well now we are pleased to be able to bring you
the best quality inflatable tumble track on the
market today - The Continental Air Track.
If
your club does not have the space to have a fibre
rod tumble track set out permanently, or if you
share your space with other clubs (such as in
a sports hall) then an inflatable tumble track,
or "air track" would be ideal for you.
Also,
as a training device or to supplement your fibre
rod track in a permanent gymnastic facility, an
inflatable air track provides interest and learning
opportunities to ensure your gymnasts thoroughly
enjoy their gymnastics and keep coming back for
more.
What
makes this track different?
This
track is of a significantly higher quality than
others available on the market. The extra investment
in a Continental Air Track will quickly be rewarded
by the quality of the apparatus and the reaction
and improvement in your gymnasts tumbling.
The
Continental Air Track has a huge number of features
which make this the best airtrack available:
- Hi-power
1500W fan
- Adjustable
track pressure
- Higher
maximum pressure than other tracks
- Set
up time (including inflation) of under 5 minutes
- Zip
in the end cap permits full deflation in seconds
- Manufactured
from rugged PVC coated polyester throughout
to avoid snags and reduce air leakage and wear
- Acoustically
lined fan enclosure on castors for easy set
up ensures the rest of the gym users are not
distracted by a noisy fan
- Made
to order in a huge number of colour variations
to suit your gym
- Available
in 12 different sizes to suit the space you
have available: You have a choice of two widths
- 3m or 3.5m and 6 lengths - 10m, 12m, 14m,
16m, 18m or 20m. All the tracks are 500mm thick
when inflated.
- Upgrade
price from 3m to 3.5m is well worth the small
additional investment. Just £300 extra
for almost 20% more track !

The
track above shows our recommended colour combination
of a red coaching area to act as a warning, blue
jumping area and contrasting yellow centre line.
Any tracks ordered without a colour combination
specified will be supplied as above.

The
colour combination above shows a variation on
our recommendation.

The
above track is in a colour combination that would
look great in a gym already equipped in Continental's
jade green matting and floor area.

The
above image shows a 3.5m wide track in use along
with some foam obstacles located to aid training

The
hi-power 1500W, adjustable output fan is supplied
in an acoustically lined housing to reduce noise.
The fan housing is on castors to enable it to
be moved to and from storage easily
|
|
The
image below shows the different sections of
the track that can each be your choice of six
colours: blue, red, yellow, white, green and
light grey.
We
recommend that the coaching area is red to act
as a visual warning for the tumbling gymnast
that they are reaching the side of the track.
Also the centre line should contrast well with
the jumping area, again as a visual clue to
the gymnast while executing tumbles. The end
caps and underside must be the same colour as
either the coaching area or the jumping area.

What
is the Continental Airtrack like to use?
The
Continental Airtrack makes a fantastic serious
gymnastics training aid to practice tumbling
in an assisted environment, but it is also GREAT
FUN. Click on the video below to watch a group
of gymnasts having fun practising "Parkour"
or free-running. Why not increase the popularity
of your gym by offering classes using the Airtrack
to add some light-hearted (or even serious!)
practice?
If
you have video of you using a Continental Airtrack
and would like it featuring here, please upload
it to YouTube and email the link to sales@contisports.co.uk
