from
Continental Sports...
We have been inundated with requests to manufacture
a serious range of junior training equipment to the
same high standards as our regular gymnastics apparatus.
So, after working closely on the product development
with various leading gymnastics coaches across the country
to determine exactly what they require, we can now bring
you our "Junior Gym" range of training aids
for the younger gymnast.
We
think this apparatus will become an essential part of
every gym. Not only does this equipment deliver fantastic
training opportunities for your promising young gymnasts,
but as gymnastics training facilities need to be increasingly
commercial, it can be a great selling point for building
up your "recreational gymnastics" customer
base.
The
equipment is modular, permitting easy changes between
different arrangements - for example, you could start
with a rebounder and then just buy the extra components
to convert it into a set of asymmetric bars. The standard
packages consist of:
Unlike
some other children's training equipment available on
the market, this equipment is definitely NOT A TOY.
It shares many features, materials and manufacturing
techniques with our standard FIG approved gymnastics
equipment. See below for some of the attention to detail
that ensures this equipment can withstand the rigours
of daily use in a busy gym:

Double
or single rebounder
This
rebounder is available in a single or double version.
A
double rebounder can be used as a single rebounder
with one upright frame removed. A single rebounder
can be converted into a double rebounder by purchasing
an additional outer upright frame with a pair
of short inner uprights, a bungee cable with fittings
and a bungee cover.
This
is a fantastic training aid and strengthening
device to enable the young gymnast to experience
the sensation of being above the bar and for practising
changes of grip while above the bar.
We
include and recommend a rigid solid timber low
rebounder rail for this equipment.
To
see the components required to build up the rebounders

Junior
high bar
The
Junior Gym high bar provides a great introduction
to this piece of apparatus.
The
standard horizontal bar is manufactured in
a similar way to our FIG standard asymmetric bars
rail - a timber veneered fibreglass bar but with
a slightly smaller diameter and slightly more
flex. This bar will present only modest spring
or flex to the lighter junior gymnast but brings
them close to the sensation of the senior apparatus.
To
see the components required to build up the asymmetric
bars refer to the table at the foot of the page,
or click here.

Junior
asymmetric bars
Junior
Gym asymmetric bars provide a great introduction
to working with the uneven bars.
The
apparatus is freestanding and the width between
the bars is easily adjusted using the simple sprung
locating pins and thumbscrews in the bases.
The
standard bars are manufactured in a similar way
to our FIG standard asymmetric bars rail - a timber
veneered fibreglass bar but with a slightly smaller
diameter and slightly more flex. This bar will
present only modest spring or flex to the lighter
junior gymnast but brings them close to the sensation
of the senior apparatus.

Junior

Junior
Gym parallel bars provide a great introduction
to working with the senior version.

Freestanding bar trainer
This
simple training device is ideal for gymnasts to
learn on before moving up to the full size equipment.
The
bar, which is identical in construction to our
standard timber veneered fibreglass asymmetric
bar, is 1m off the ground and 1m long. The supporting
rails on the ground are 1.8m long.
This
piece of equipment offers less flexibility than
the full Junior Gym apparatus with the single
bar being fixed height, but it is a great complement
to the equipment you provide for junior gymnasts.

Junior
gym components
The
full range of Junior Gym equipment is modular,
permitting easy changes between different arrangements
- for example, you could start with a rebounder
and then just buy the extra components to convert
it into a set of asymmetric bars. The graphic
below shows the standard packages and the prices
for the individual components.
This
enables you to determine what extra parts you
require to create different assemblies.
