Continental Sports is delighted to have completed the first phase of Tameside BSF schools.  Continental worked closely with the Main Contractor, Carillion plc, on the first phase (now complete) and the second phase (currently underway).

Continental provided a comprehensive one-stop-shop package of work which has included:

• legacy surveys of existing equipment
• full sports hall, fitness suite and actvity studio design consultancy service
• supply and installation of sports hall equipment
• design and application of court line markings
• traditional timber gymnasium equipment
• fitness suite equipment from Matrix and Technnogym
• supply and installation of outdoor sports equipment and protection netting
• supply and installation of posture mirrors and ballet barre to dance studios
• changing room seating

Continental has been involved in this project for a several years to enable our input to be provided into the design process which ensured installations ran smoothly and potentially costly remedial work was not necessary to enable the sports equipment to be incorporated.

Continental's substantial manufacturing resources, large and experienced Drawing Office team, and large team of installation engineers enabled several installations to be undertaken simultaneously.

The schools completed are:

• St Damian's - 4-court hall and outdoor pitches
• New Charter Academy - 4-court hall, activity rooms, outdoor pitches, fitness suite
• Samuel Laycock (SEN) - traditional gymnasium, activity room
• Mossley Hollins - 4-court hall
• Globe Lane (PRU) - activity hall

The next phase that Continental are installing imminently includes:

• Hyde Technology College - 4-court hall, fitness suite
• Droylesden - 4-court hall, fitness suite
• Dale Grove (PRU) - activity hall, changing room
• Denton College - 4-court sports hall, activity room, fitness suite

Continental has been delighted to work with Carillion and Tameside Council on these projects which have significantly improved the educational and sporting facilities for children in Tameside.
