Safety mats ("Crash" mats)

Supplied with removable covers in either leather grained PVC or cotton canvas.

The pvc mats have hidden zips to remove the covers and the canvas mats have velcro opening acces panels.

Both types have strong carrying handles on the two long sides.

Anti-slip bases are available as an option. The soft foam inner, which can be supplied in standard or a combustion modified version makes these the ideal mat for all awkward landing situations.

The PVC covered mat is available in red or blue as standard (with yellow and green also available on special order).

The canvas covered mat is available in blue. (Other canvas colours may be available - if you have any special requirements please contact us to discuss what colours are available)

Please note that safety mats must not be dragged using the handles as this can damage the covers and handles. The mats should always be picked up using the handles and carried.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If your safety mat is required for high usage situations - such as gymnastics clubs - we strongly recommend our fire retardant foam mats which incorporate heavier duty / harder wearing foam. Trocellen® linkable exercise mat

Ref:297B - An exciting new development using the latest in hi-tech, high performance materials.

Featuring precision water cut jigsaw edges enabling the mats to be linked with absolutely NO GAPS between the mats. Previously only available in the latest in judo or karate mats, this feature is now available in this exercise mat - prevent toes or fingers being caught between the edges of traditional velcro linked mats.

The mat features a multi-layer construction with many unique features including:

  • Tatami surface for a sure-grip in landing situations
  • A firm top layer to give support to landings
  • High resistance layers for impact resistance
  • Core cushioning layer for shock absorption
  • Integrated base to enhance the anti-slip properties of the mat

What is Trocellen®? - It is a cross-linked polyethylene foam made from polyolefin resins. What that means to you is a high level of plasticity and elasticity, low weight, high impermeability, hard wearing, long lasting mats that are hypo-allergenic, antibacterial and anti-fungal.

The Trocellen linkable exercise mat. The perfect all purpose, general use exercise mat for school, leisure centre, gym or home use

The mats (shown above) are available in 1m x 1m x 40mm sections.

Quick and easy to link together leaving a smooth exercise surface with no gaps between the joins

Link into any size or shape with absolutely no gaps (the above image shows the linking of four mats)

The "arrow" shown here is the key to linking the mats. Line up all the arrows to point in the same direction and you know the mats are in the correct orientation for linking.

The precision water jet cut edges (shown on the graphic above) are easy to link. Just line up the "arrows" on one corner of the mats in the same direction and push into place.

The new technology used to create these exercise mats enables incredible performance criteria to be delivered to the athlete or gymnast. It is easy to see the differing characteristics of the layers in action - watch the core cushioning layer absorbing impacts
The multi-layer high performance foams permanently heat bonded together allow previously unheard of specific performance criteria to be met.

The graphic above shows each of the heat bonded layers. This bonding uses no glues - flames slightly melt the surface of each layer which are then fused permanently together - the layers become permanently joined.

Geometric mats

A variety of shapes and colours in vinyl covered 25mm (1") fire retardant chipfoam with a latex anti-slip base.

Mats are available in the following shapes and colours:

The mats add another learning dimension to PE lessons, enabling the PE teacher to introduce the concept of different movements linked to the different shapes and / or colours of the mat.

Children find the mats more interesting than standard mats, they present additional flexibility and more options to the teacher and they certainly brighten up a school hall !

Carpet surface mat rolls

A range of carpet surface mats in a choice of foam backings. The different foams have different properties and are appropriate for different uses. Each mat roll has a 5mm broadloom polypropylene carpet surface available in either Seal Grey, Commonwealth Green or Lilleshall Blue. Velcro strips in grey, green or pale glue are available in any lengths to suit your intended layout.


Ref:313 - Tribond foam carpet surface rolls. Manufactured from a 30mm sandwich of lightweight foams heat bonded to 5mm of broadloom carpet. (see close up to the right). This construction is identical to the material used for the top layer on our International sprung floor.

The mats offer a very high degree of elasticity, absorption and durability.

Their lightness makes them very user-friendly - especially if the mats are to be stored after use in a shared facility, or if space in your gym is limited and the floor area is required for other activities when not in use.

This is the mat that we recommend for gymnastic floor areas.

Rolls are 2m wide and are available in 6m, 7m, 12m and 14m lengths. Bespoke lengths are available - please call to discuss.

 

Ref:306 - Chipfoam carpet surface rolls. Manufactured from either 25mm or 35mm fire retardant chipfoam, bonded to the 5mm broadloom carpet. The edges and underside of the chipfoam are sealed with a canvas and latex finish. (see illustration to the middle right)

This product is heavier than the Tribond foam, and is recommended where existing chipfoam carpet rolls are in use to ensure a match of performance across the floor area.

 

Ref:312 - Polyblend carpet surface rolls. Manufactured from a 35mm chipfoam and lytafoam sandwich, bonded to the 5mm broadloom carpet. The edges and underside of the chipfoam are sealed with a canvas and latex finish. (see illustration to the middle right)

This is a midweight carpet surface roll which has some of the characteristics of a chipfoam mat (easy to roll, good cushioning) but with reduced weight.
