The
Steel "Foldaway"...
Invented by the founder of Continental, the steel Foldaway
remains to this day the UK's most popular, versatile
and space saving climbing frame.
Manufactured from high quality steel tubing and epoxy
powder coated in red, blue and yellow (other colours
available by arrangement), the Foldaway provides the
opportunity required by the National Curriculum for
a variety of activities - hanging, balancing, turning
upside-down etc.
Available in 1, 2 or 3 gate combinations. The 1 and
2 gate frames are supplied with 1 stabilising ladder.
The 3 gate, which can be fixed in a "Y" or
"T" position, comes with 2 ladders. Keystage
1 frames are 2m and 2.4m high. Keystage 2 frames are
2.7m and 3m high.
The frame has a single wall pivot which can be arranged
to span windows and radiators if necessary. Strong shoot
bolts secure the frame and no overhead cable is required.
The frame folds flat against the wall requiring only
2.3m of wall space.
Ideally, double door access is required for installation,
but if required the frames can be made for single door
access. As the fixings require our installation engineers
to drill into the floor, provision must be made in advance
if underfloor heating is installed.

Steel
"Foldaway"
Each
frame can be painted in your choice of red, blue
and yellow.
Eight
different gate designs are available - see below.
With
the inclusion of an optional wall fixed ladder
(shown in the picture to the right), additional
linking and bridging activities can be undertaken
using the equipment detailed below.

The
3-Gate Mat System™
A
revolutionary new flexible mat system specifically
designed for the Continental steel 3-gate climbing
frame.
The
mat system fits snuggly under the climbing frame
in all possible positions: standard T-position,
standard half-Y position, additional full-Y position.
The
“3-Gate Mat System”™ delivers:

Wall
fixed ladder
In
order for additional linking and bridging equipment
(see below) to be used with the foldaway, the
wall fixed ladder as shown in the arrangement
at the top of the page is required.
This
item can be installed at the same time as the
foldaway climbing frame or at a later date. However,
if installed at a later date, an additional site
visit charge will be payable.
This
ladder requires floor fixings and the details
regarding underfloor heating apply to this item

Additional
linking and bridging equipment for use between
the Foldaway and wall fixed vertical ladder.
The
possibilities to undertake additional National
Curriculum activities using the Steel Foldaway
increase significantly when a wall fixed ladder
and linking / bridging equipment is used with
the frame. Activities such as hanging or taking
weight on hands are highlighted with the use of
bridging ladders and poles. 7' long linking equipment
is required to span the space between the frame
and the wall fixed ladder.
