Pickleball
Pickleball court layout and markings
There are no standard height requirements for pickleball. The nature of the ball with airflow through it means it is difficult / impossible to hit the ball higher or further than in many other sports. So any space suitable for multi-sports will have a clear height suitable for Pickleball.
Pickleball courts are identical in size overall to badminton courts with only the non-volley / kitchen line being approximately 150mm different. Therefore most facilities can play pickleball on badminton courts.
The lines of pickleball courts are 50mm wide (compared to badminton which is 40mm wide)
Official compliant / competition standard pickleball courts will therefore require separately marking.
- Drawing CM-39 below shows the standard Pickleball court dimensions
Many facilities need to combine badminton courts with Pickleball courts. We have therefore created a drawing showing the difference between them and the impact of superimposing them.
- Drawing CM-40 below shows a badminton court and Pickleball court compared and superimposed to show the differences.
